AIDE’2025

Nowadays, we are witnessing a profound transformation of our society, driven by the rapid rise of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Science. These disciplines, at the crossroads of computer science, mathematics and social sciences, play a central role in a wide range of fields, including healthcare, industry, finance, environment and education.

Artificial intelligence and data science have experienced rapid development since the late 20th century. Advances in machine learning algorithms, the significant improvement in the accuracy of predictive models and the deep learning big revolution have enabled AI to move from an experimental stage to a powerful tool, capable of analyzing, learning, predicting, adapting and even surpassing human performance in certain specific tasks.

At the same time, increased computing power, advances in data storage, the use of cloud infrastructure and the development of high-speed Internet have all contributed to the emergence of the data science field, which is a discipline focused on collecting, processing, analyzing and interpreting large volumes of data in order to extract useful knowledge to support decision-making.

AI and data science interact in a circular dynamic, where data fuels artificial intelligence, and AI enhances the use and value of data. In fact, data science provides the foundation upon which AI can perform tasks such as classification, image recognition, etc.

Conversely, AI enhances data science by enabling large-scale predictive and prescriptive analyses, as well as automating certain stages of data processing (such as data preparation, feature selection and intelligent visualization).

Following the success of the previous edition of the Autumn School (IA2’2023), held in Sète, France, from October 30th to November 3rd, 2023, under the theme "Artificial Intelligence and Management of Imperfect and Heterogeneous Information and Data", the current edition of the Autumn School, entitled "Artificial Intelligence in the Data science Era" (AIDE’2025), continues this dynamic. By capitalizing on the achievements of the previous edition, AIDE’2025 aims to deepen the ongoing reflections while broadening the topics covered, particularly focusing on practical applications of data science, advances in machine learning as well as the ethical and social dimensions of AI. The school seeks to provide an inspiring environment that fosters high-level training, interdisciplinary dialogue and international collaboration.
The AIDE’2025 program is designed to achieve the following specific objectives:

• Train a new generation of researchers, engineers and professionals capable of understanding, developing and applying these technologies responsibly and ethically.
• Strengthen fundamental knowledge and develop technical skills.
• Promote interdisciplinary collaboration among researchers.
• Create a space for exchange and exploration within a rigorous and stimulating environment that fosters learning, critical thinking and collaboration.
